Nurseries and Pre-schools are classed as a food business if you prepare food for consumption (e.g. cooking). This manual clearly defines individual’s roles, responsibilities and training requirements to ensuring that food is safe to eat and is based on a ‘field-to-fork’ approach, with the aim of reducing contamination of foods during production, supply, preparation, cooking, chilling, refrigeration, freezing, hot-holding, transportation, serving and eating and promoting good food hygiene practice. The Childcare Food Safety Policy and Procedures Manual complies with legal and regulatory responsibilities in relation to catering and facilities for eating.
